Rendering and Pipeline Management forum on CGTantra

Miguel Ángel has found this CGTantra forum , to "Discuss topics on Scene optimization, Rendering Management, Pipeline Management and IT Infrastructure and Studio Setup."
It is organized in three subforums:
- Render Management
- Pipeline Management
- Studio Setup and IT Infrastructure

This particular forum is powered by DUX Soft Pvt. Ltd., "
a unique company created to address the growing needs and demands of the Animation, Gaming & VFX industry. Dux brings to market over 14 years of experience in setting up from scratch and managing the IT infrastructure of major Animation & VFX studios." who claims to have "delivered services like "IMS" "Studio Design" "PipeLine" Rendering" "Data center Design" "Optimization" to almost 45 Studios across India & Asia."

In their web you can find, among other things, an unfinished "Knowledge Zone" with tips on Data Center , Storage , and Render, as well as a slideshow with a simple definition of workflow.

Thanks, Miguel Ángel.

Interesting softwares for 3D distributed production (updated)

Scroll down for a brief update on online video-editing tools. Over the years I have coordinated several projects in which a number of artists work separately. Although very far from a perfect solution, I have found different useful tools that can help anyone in a similar situation. These are the tasks I have found more overwhelming, and the corresponding tools that might be to manage them: DEVELOPMENT. A lot of work has to be redone every time if writers, designers, etc. don´t use an adequate system. Celtx seems a very interesting tool to start properly with your projects. COORDINATION. Simply knowing who is doing what and how much is already done can be a nightmare, specially when you are not working full time on a project. The tool I find myself using more often is Google Docs & Spreadsheets . It allows several users to edit a shared spreadsheet simultaneously. It has some limitations compared to a full-featured spreadsheet ( or even compared to Excel ) namely conditional

A  producer of two graduation short films just sent me an email: "We all know how complicated Shotgun is:  I found this Maya-centric project manager that looks awesome. Version control: Saves and versions scenes and  playblasts. Team collaboration: Roles and permissions Last update was in February 2018, but Lior seems pretty fast to reply in the  feedback forum . Let me share some relevant information I´ve found in the web page http://pipeline.nnl.tv "The license is restricted to a single user - without any other limitations." The " Non-Commercial use only  with  Limited functionality "  Trial license is free The " Non-Commercial and Educational use only  -  Requires Email verification&quo
